Magpie Maths is a weekly set of NAPLAN-style word problems designed for students to synthesise multiple maths concepts into a single, real life question. It is designed to build NAPLAN-ready problem solving skills.

Magpie Maths questions require interpretation, planning, and multiple steps to complete, meaning students must truly understand the topics rather than relying on rote learning.

Each question is accompanied by an in-depth video solution, where we break down how to approach the question, what to look out for, common mistakes kids make, and the best way to plan out and complete the question in a logical manner.

Magpie Maths is built on the Australian primary school maths curriculum, targeting students between years 3-6, but younger students are welcome to see if their ability matches our easier questions.

STEP 2: Sign up by messaging me (Phil) on 0431088042 with your basic details and any questions you have. I’ll be happy to organise a time for us to call.

STEP 3: Start receiving the questions and video solutions each Monday via email. The questions can be completed at any point in the week, so it always fits your schedule!

How Magpie Maths Compares To Other Options

After-school Maths Centre

Magpie Maths is half the price of a typical after-school maths centre ($80/month vs $160/month).
Magpie Maths doesn’t require you to shuttle your child to and from somewhere after school.
